How to Choose the Right Toilet Paper? — Decoding Quality Secrets Through Testing Indicators

Although toilet paper is small, it is closely related to daily life. Faced with the many brands and types on supermarket shelves, consumers often don't know how to distinguish good from bad. In fact, the quality of toilet paper is hidden in various testing indicators specified by national standards. With professional hygiene product testing instruments, we can decode the quality secrets of toilet paper from five dimensions.


1. Look at the implementation standard. Toilet paper and facial tissue are two different categories. Toilet paper complies with GB/T 20810 standard, with bacterial colony count limited to ≤600 cfu/g, mainly used in toilets and similar scenarios. Facial tissue complies with GB/T 20808 standard, requiring bacterial colony count ≤200 cfu/g, more suitable for wiping mouth and face. 4. Look at softness to the touch. High-quality toilet paper feels soft and delicate, with no lint or powder shedding. Poor-quality paper feels rough, breaks easily, and may even have particles. 5. Look at practical performance. Good toilet paper should have both good water absorption and moderate wet strength. The Horizontal Tensile Tester and Klemm Capillary Rise Tester respectively test the tensile strength and water absorption performance of paper, ensuring that toilet paper is not easily broken and absorbs water quickly during use. Consumers can also conduct a simple test: put the tissue into water; high-quality paper should disperse and dissolve relatively quickly to avoid clogging the toilet.
