Focusing on GB/T 27591-2025, YANTE helps paper tableware companies control stiffness with professional testing equipment
How much food can a paper food tray hold before its edge collapses? How much force does it take to bend a paper fork? As plastic-restriction policies continue to advance, molded pulp tableware is entering takeout, group catering, and other scenarios. These questions, once judged by “trying it by hand,” now need to be answered with data. GB/T 27591-2025, Paper Tableware, incorporates stiffness and bending resistance into its assessment, and testing capability is becoming a new threshold for paper tableware companies.
Many companies still rely on simple pressure blocks plus manual observation for stiffness testing, making results difficult to reproduce, let alone trace. The YT-PTS Paper Tableware Stiffness Tester is designed to turn “experience-based” testing into “data-based” judgment.

The instrument uses a Cotex-M4 ARM processor and a 24-bit high-speed analog-to-digital converter, together with a closed-loop servo stepper motor, ball screw, and dual-optical-axis guiding structure. At the standard speed of 25±2 mm/min, it applies pressure smoothly to paper food trays, paper knives, forks, and spoons and automatically records the maximum force value. The measuring range is ≤50 N, the resolution is 0.001 N, and the indication error is ≤±1%. A 7-inch touchscreen draws the force–displacement curve in real time, so engineers can see from the graph whether the weakness lies in the support structure or in the curvature of the tray bottom. It can measure paper food trays up to 300 mm in diameter and is compatible with trays, knives, forks, and spoons.
Data management is also built in: results can be exported via USB flash drive, and a built-in thermal printer produces reports on site; USB and WiFi interfaces can connect to PC software or the QMS paper quality management system, sending data to the cloud for centralized monitoring. In the event of a sudden power failure, data is automatically saved, and testing can resume after restart—a detail that eliminates the dreaded “wasted test.”
For paper tableware companies, the significance of the stiffness tester goes beyond passing spot checks—by accumulating the force values of each batch of products, formula adjustments and mold modifications gain a comparable basis; for quality inspection and research institutions, stable and reproducible data are also a prerequisite for issuing reports.
YANTE said it will continue to refine its products around real scenarios in paper testing, so that every indicator in the standards can be measured accurately and easily.
