YANTE YT-CM1000 Spectral Color Tester Officially Launched
2026-11-02

Recently, YANTE’s all-new YT-CM1000 Spectral Color Tester was officially introduced to the market. Using spectral data to set standards for “white” and “color,” the instrument is designed to measure the whiteness, color and color difference of solid samples. It can be widely used in papermaking, printing, textile dyeing and finishing, ceramics, building materials, chemicals, grain, salt production and other industries, as well as in production and commodity inspection departments that need to test the color and whiteness of solids.

Whiteness and Color Difference: From “Opinions” to “Clauses”

In the paper, printing and building materials industries, whiteness and color difference are increasingly not just subjective judgments on the shop floor, but hard indicators written into contracts, acceptance forms and customer complaint forms. For the same batch of goods, the supplier says there is no problem, while the buyer says it is too yellow; in the end, each side often has to give in a little—because the two sides do not have the same ruler. What is more troublesome is that color “changes face” under different light sources; judging samples by naked eye may mean that today’s conclusion will not hold tomorrow.

YT-CM1000 is designed to solve exactly this problem: quantify light into numbers, so that whiteness, chromaticity and color difference have a unified, reproducible and traceable basis for judgment.

Dual-Beam Optical Architecture Puts Precision at the Foundation

The instrument adopts dual-beam (d/0) geometry and is equipped with an imported concave flat-field grating, a dual-row 32-element photoelectric array and a pulsed xenon lamp, with dual-channel calibration for D65 and C light sources. The wavelength range is 400–700 nm, the spectral bandwidth is 14 nm, and the data interval is 10 nm. It outputs complete spectral data, not just a set of readings.

In terms of parameters, the photometer linearity error is 0.5%, repeatability is ≤0.05 CIELAB, and inter-instrument agreement is ≤0.50 CIELAB—meaning that results measured for the same sample on different machines, in different shifts and in different laboratories can match, providing a basis for horizontal comparison of data across plants and suppliers. Viewing angles of 2° and 10° are available, accommodating the expression conventions of different standard systems.

One Instrument Covers Whiteness, Chromaticity and Physical Indicators

In terms of chromaticity, the instrument can provide tristimulus values and chromaticity coordinates in the CIE 1931 standard colorimetric system and the CIE 1964 supplementary colorimetric system, as well as L*a*b, Lu*v* and color difference values in the CIE 1976 uniform color space. In terms of whiteness, it can measure CIE whiteness (Ganz visual whiteness) W10 and tint value Tw10, D65 brightness (blue-light diffuse reflectance factor), ISO brightness under C/2°, Hunter whiteness, and the fluorescence brightness of fluorescent whitening materials under D65 and C light sources. A matching fiber sampler allows measurement of fiber whiteness and chromaticity; powder samples are also applicable.

On this basis, yellowness index YI, opacity OP, transparency, light scattering coefficient S, light absorption coefficient A, ink absorption value, and reflected light density Dx, Dy and Dz are also included. A single report can clearly present the sample’s “color credentials.”

Operation and Data: Designed to Minimize Hassle

The device is equipped with two measuring apertures, Φ34 mm and Φ18 mm, with automatic recognition. Small samples and full paperboard can be measured on the same machine, and special sizes can be customized on demand—no need to add another instrument for a small test piece. The 7-inch IPS HD touchscreen (1024×600) supports two operation modes: touchscreen and PC software. Use the screen for quick on-site testing, and the software for batch records and reports. A stepper motor automatically controls the amount of UV radiation, so the fluorescence brightness of fluorescent whitening materials is obtained at the touch of a button, eliminating the hassle of repeated parameter adjustment.

Data can be exported via USB flash drive and uploaded to the cloud via USB2.0 or WiFi (2.4G). Together with the QMS paper quality management system, it enables centralized monitoring of test data. Both the system and the screen software support upgrades via network or USB flash drive.

Standards Compliance

YT-CM1000 Spectral Color Tester covers the relevant requirements of standards including GB/T 7974, GB/T 10339, GB/T 7973, GB/T 7975, GB/T 3979, GB/T 9338, GB/T 2679.1, GB/T 1543, GB/T 8940.2, GB/T 5950 and ISO 2469.
